THE GREAT LAKES BOOK PROJECT ENTERS ITS FINAL STAGE OF PRODUCTION
December 7, 2012
The Great Lakes Book Project, a collection of 27 individually-authored works of creative non-fiction about The Great Lakes, is proud to announce that it has entered its final stage of production. A contract is currently being negotiated with Color House Graphics of Grand Rapids, Michigan for the production and physical integrity of the collection of creative non-fiction. The first publication by Felix Exi of Traverse City, Michigan, the decision to choose a regional provider over a corporate giant was met with excitement and enthusiasm and the potentiality for many more years of cooperative business. It also signals both The Great Lake Book Project and Felix Exi’s commitment to ensuring that a book about the region is created by the people who experience it every day.
Because of the uncertain nature of book publishing as well as the online-presence the book has garnered, a Kickstarter.com campaign is set to launch early next week where funds will be raised to ensure that the book can be seen by as many people as possible and that its optimal social impact is achieved. In addition to the promotional campaign (designed to run for 30 days), the book will also be sent out to several insightful leaders in the literature and entertainment community for review. Starting in mid-January, the editor, Walter Blake Knoblock, will tour around the Midwest greeting readers in local bookstores, not only selling copies, but also talking about the process of creating the anthology of memories and experiences. Cities and dates will be release in the infancy of the New Year.
